The project EGent addresses key challenges of the energy transition by strengthening the integration of ECs. The focus is on integrating community storage systems - both stationary and mobile - into the energy system in order to efficiently utilize their potential and contribute to achieving climate targets.

Technical, economic, and regulatory aspects are considered in equal measure to develop practical and scalable solutions for implementation in real-world energy systems.

Overview
#

The project investigates the integration of various storage solutions into energy communities, including stationary and mobile swarm storage systems (e.g., electric vehicles). The aim is to analyze and optimize their deployment under real-world conditions.

A particular focus is placed on the development of innovative methods for forecasting energy consumption and generation, as well as on optimizing the operation of community storage systems. Stochastic approaches and AI-based methods are applied to account for uncertainties such as the volatility of energy generation and the availability of storage.

In addition, regulatory frameworks, user needs, and economic aspects are analyzed in order to develop viable business models and tariff structures. This is intended to enable the efficient integration of energy communities into the overall energy system.
